OUR TEACHERS
http://community-2.webtv.net/LokahiLapaauHi/ENANAIKEKUMU/page23.html

Our teachers are from the big island of Hawai'i. They are members of the Ka Leo 'O Na Kahuna Lapa'au 'O Hawai'i Nei - Hale 'O Lono Foundation.

Kahuna "Ikaika" Keahiolaikaikaotalani Dombrigues is a Native Hawaiian Kahuna Lapa'au Master. A Spiritual Counselor and Healer, he has been working with patients in Hawaii and from around the world for over 30 years. His work blends La'au Lapa'au (herbal healings) and Mai'ola (body, mind, spiritual well-being).

In 1999, the Edith Kanaka'ole Foundation sponsored the first World Indigenous Conference held in Hilo, on the island of Hawaii. The conference was held to bring world indigenous peoples together to share their culture, traditions and practices. Following Hawaiian tradition, the people came in canoes to Puu Honua O Moku Ola, located in Hilo Bay, to respectfully pay homage to the ancestors past and to the highest ranking Kahuna Nui O Pari Tu, Keahiolaikaikaotalani. At this celebration, the kanaka maoli poe of Hawaii, including the Royal Order of Kamehameha O Hawaii, came to welcome indigenous peoples from around the world. In honor of the traditional practices and priesthoods of Hawaii, the Makali'i (voyaging canoe) dropped it's sails in homage to our ancestors and to seek permission from the Kahuna Nui O Pari Tu Keahiolaikaikaotalani of the island of Hawaii, to bless the celebration and come upon the land. In behalf of the ancestors, Kahuna "Ikaika" received them and gave them passageway onto the 'aina.

Kahuna Keahiolaikaikaotalani is the first Kahuna Nui O Pari Tu of the Lono 'O Ta Matahiti legacy to be recognized with the dropping of the sails in over one hundred years. He was trained by Tahuna Nui 'O Pari Tu Sam Lono, Tahuna Pule Kawika Ka'alakea and Tahuna Lapa'au Harry Mitchell. Kahu Ikaika is carrying on the ancient Lono 'O Ta Matahiti legacy, which is a direct descendance of the Hawaiian god Lono.
